Positive Influence: Divine Mercy Group Launches Premier Educational, Healthcare Facilities in Imo

Divine Mercy Group, owners of Divine Mercy American International Academy and Divine

Mercy Hospital, is making a significant impact in Imo State with its state-of-the-art facilities.

 The group is owned by Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ihejirika, a Catholic priest based in the United States, who is committed to providing quality education and healthcare services to the community. 

The school is located at Obike in Ngor-Okpala council area of Imo State.

Mrs. Nkechinyere Nworgu, the group’s Head of Administration, explained that the school’s mission is to bring global standards of education to Obike. 

“Our aim is to ensure that whatever is found globally, education-wise, is brought down to Obike,” she said, highlighting the group’s dedication to bridging educational gaps in the region.

Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ihejirika emphasized the school’s focus on inclusivity, stating, “The goal of this academy is to provide formidable educational opportunities for less privileged children and to any child who has a desire to learn.” 

This mission underlines the group’s commitment to accessible education for all children irrespective of their backgrounds.

Divine Mercy American International Academy boasts an impressive array of facilities designed to foster learning and personal development. 

The school features rich libraries, advanced science laboratories, spacious classrooms, a computer room, and a music studio. 

Unique provisions include free bicycles for students to ease transportation, ultra-modern sports facilities like volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis courts, and a track race field.

Creative arts and hands-on activities also form an integral part of the curriculum, aimed at building both mind and character. 

The school provides vibrant crèche and nursery sections fully equipped with age-appropriate toys and learning aids. 

Additionally, the ICT centre is fully stocked and equipped with access to a smart board, enhancing interactive learning experiences.

The boarding facilities accommodate 100 students in serene, hygienic hostels equipped with heaters for cold weather, with plans for expansion already underway. 

Students enjoy a well-organized dining hall, and all the school’s facilities are solar-powered to ensure uninterrupted, 24/7 electricity supply.

School Principal Rev. Sister Caroline Alanwoko emphasized that the school employs 21st-century technology to deliver quality education. 

The school’s Head-boy, Chinedu Ugochukwu, expressed his gratitude, calling it a “great opportunity to study here.” 

Another student, Stephanie Osueke, praised the teachers for their effective and well-organized teaching methods.

Mr. Benjamin Obidigbo, the School Manager, noted the diverse student body that includes pupils from northern Nigeria and the southwest. He added that the school environment is well-equipped and conducive to both teaching and learning. 

Meanwhile, Mrs. Nworgu highlighted that Divine Mercy Hospital is similarly well equipped with round-the-clock power, beds, a fully stocked pharmacy, a radiography room, a modern theater, resident doctors, and registered nurses. 

She added that the hospital serves both the school and the entire Obike community. 

In his closing remarks, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ihejirika appealed to Nigerians, urging them to strive to provide the best possible facilities for their communities despite prevailing challenges.
