CSAAE Felicitates with Prof. Lemchi over Appointment as maiden AIFUE Vice Chancellor 

The Management of CSAAE has felicitated with  Prof. Stella Lemchi over her appointment as the first substantive Vice Chancellor of the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education (AIFUE). 

Executive Director of the CSAAE, Rev. Fr Dr. Godswill Agbagwa shared the congratulatory message in a release made available to newsmen in Owerri, on Monday. 

Agbagwa, a Catholic priest and foremost humanitarian described Lemchi’s appointment as “the right peg in the right hole”. 

He recalled CSAAE’s recent collaborative efforts with the AIFUE especially with the University’s Centre for Gender Studies. 

He said that the collaboration led to the adoption of the Sexual Harassment Policy Document, a significant step by the parties, in addressing Gender Based Violence (GBV) in tertiary and post-secondary institutions, especially. 

He expressed the belief that Lemchi, given her background and experience, as well as her motherly disposition, will expedite efforts towards the implementation of the policy document so that its effect can be felt by victims of GBV. 

He added that when implemented, new forms of GBV in academic institutions such as ‘Sex for Grades’ and others will be adequately addressed.

Fr. Agbagwa expressed the optimism that the AIFUE community will experience academic successes given Lemchi’s appointment and called on all stakeholders to rally their support.
