Imo based Football Club, Diana Emi, has unveiled Libra Motors as its official sponsor and patron.
Proprietor of Diana-Emi, Mr Ifeanyi Ekwueme, said this while unveiling the road transport giant at the Imo Football Association (FA) office, in Owerri, on Wednesday.
Ekwueme, a former Super Eagle’s midfielder and sports administrator, said that the partnership would see Libra Motors convey the team to their match venues and other official functions.
He thanked the Imo FA Chairman, Mr Ifeanyi Dike, for his transparent leadership and said that the club would work to register for the FA Cup next season.
He also donated 10 match balls, made in Denmark, and 30 branded caps to the Imo FA.
“ Diana-Emi FC is a part of Ifeanyi Ekwueme football academy, and we’re looking at registering for next season’s FA Cup.
“ We’ll continue to support grassroots football development and the overall success of the round leather game in Imo and beyond “, he said.
Speaking, the southeast Regional Manager of Libra Transport, Mr Emmanuel Okereke expressed readiness for the partnership as part of the company’s continued commitment to sports development.
Also, the Imo FA Chairman, Dike thanked Ekwueme for his support and called on other well meaning good spirited Imo sons and daughters to tow the same line. He added that Imo would continue to do exploits in football administration and the discovery of talents for sports development in Nigeria.
